During term two we split into teams of three and each did
The central nervous system is made of the spine and the brain. The communication from your feelings and emotions travel round the body at 800 ks per hour to get from the nerves to the brain.
Your left side of the brain controls the right side of your body whilst the right side of the brain controls the left side of your body. Your left side of the brain is better at reading and writing whilst your right side of your brain is better at the arts and music.
The immune system needs to be protected so it can be unstoppable against viruses, bacteria and germs. Ways to keep your immune system protected is to try and have a low-fat diet, get heaps of vitamin A, try to keep stress levels low and get decent sleep.
having allergies is when you have an allergic reaction and your immune system over reacts and you start sneezing, getting itchy eyes and a runny nose. Without your immune system you could die from a common cold.
The lymphatic system is made of lymph nodes, the spleen, the chyli, the tonsils and the venous. The lymphatic system was discovered by Tomas Barthloin in 1652. Sadly, Tomas died in 1680.
You can care for your lymphatic system by meditating, doing yoga, moving around a lot and eating healthily. If we didn’t have the lymphatic system we could die from a common cold.
The urinary system is made up of the two kidneys, the ureter, the bladder, the sphinder, and the urethra. The urinary system was discovered by Andeas Vesaliaus. Kidney cancer is a big problem and smokers have a higher risk of developing kidney cancer. Symptoms of kidney cancer are blood in your urine, swelling ankles, sore back, constant reoccurring fever and unexplained sweating.
Another problem is kidney stones which is when you have eaten to much salt and the salt starts to crystallise and form a crystal in your bladder and the only ways of getting them out is through weeing them out or having them surgically taken out.
The skeletal system is made up of bones. The skeletal system was discovered over time by many, many different people. Leonardo Da Vinci was the only person to draw the most precise diagrams of the skeletal system.
Bones are able to get diseases and break. some types of fractures are a transverse fracture, oblique fractures, spiral fractures and communed fractures. If we didn’t have bones we would be a puddle of jelly and we would eventually die.
The circulatory system is made up of the heart, blood, veins, capillaries and arteries. There are two sides to your heart, the left and right sides. The left side sends oxygen around the body whilst the right side sends de-oxygenated blood to the lungs to be exhaled.
Bruises are a swelling of blood when you have hit them. There are five stages of a bruise. The first stage the bruise is usually red because of swelling blood. The second stage is usually when the bruise turns blueish or blackish. The third stage is when the bruise turns a sickly greenish colour. The forth stage is when the bruise turns a brownish colour. The final stage is when after a few more weeks, the bruise slowly dissapears.
The respiratory system is made up of the mouth, the nose, the trachea, the lungs and the diaframe. Mr Hooke was the first person to to figure out that the lungs acted like a pump.
To care for the respiratory system you need to make sure that if you have asthma not to run to often but do run, if you have lung cancer don’t smoke at all and visit your local doctor, if you have emphysema don’t breathe or smoke tobacco and also visit your local doctor.
